ECHINACEA ANGUSTIFOLIA

Apprehensive: verified many times by such expressions as the following: “Am I going to be well‌  Am I in a serious condition‌  Will I ever be myself again‌  How long before I can be on my job again‌” etc.

Depressed: “It’s no use trying to cheer up.  Everything is against me; I’m so gloomy I cry a good deal of the time.” etc.

Sluggish brain: “What did I say‌  I did not mean that, my mind does not work well, I can’t think as fast I could.  I seem confused,” etc. tired body: “It tires me to answer your questions, to talk or read; I’am so tired” “I feel much as I did after a hard football fight, as if I could not move,  I am sore in every muscle; it hurts to move - I want to lie still and just dream, not to think of anything.”

These are usually met in the convalescent stage.  Myalgia, Myositis; functional and structural changes of muscles are corrected by Echinacea.  Pyaemia (= introduction into the circulation of the products of decomposition).  It attacks for the most part those who are suffering from serious wounds or who have undergone severe surgical operations, or suppurative inflammation of bones, or who have recently given birth.  It may follow a Boil, a Carbuncle, a diffused Abscess, Caries and Necrosis of bones, a Burn, a compound Fracture, surgical operation, a dissection Wound or Parturition - especially undergo decomposition.” (W.H.DICKINSON)

I have found in my practice a marked alternation of rise and fall in temperature form 105 down to 97 during an interval of 24 - 48 hours.

All cases reveal the presence of pus cells in the blood, of diminished number of RBCs, increased WBCs.

The “Up and down” temperature is a “ranking” symptoms.  The extreme prostration - “so tired, so tired” - is the second.  Profuse perspiration ‘-’ is the third.  The tincture and low potencies, often repeated, seem most effective.

 ELAPS CORALLINUS

Dread of being alone; when alone, fears that something is going to happen and feeling of threat to life as if he is going to be beaten up, ruffians are going to break in, which explains the desire for company.  Some very important features of Elaps are: > while travelling by car (Naja);  Playing in the grass; Dreams of being raped, attacked (Cench., Sep.).  Motion:  Oscillatory; rhythmic (PHATAK)
  (Jayesh SHAH, HL. 1/95)

Think black.  Passive black haemorrhage.  Sudden deafness at night. A good Pneumonia remedy.
Exertion aggravates itching of Vulva and Vagina.  Tremor with menses.  As if intestines twisted and tied in knots.  Stomach pains better walking, and lying on Abdomen,  Headaches if hunger is not appeased immediately.

The blackness appears metaphorically in the  mental/emotional symptoms as well.  Suspicion and Haughtiness.  A quality of evil especially in women and a desire for revenge.
Marked periodicity.  Worse exertion, warmth of bed, night, touch.  Better rest.
  (Mary Lynn GARNER, SIM. 3/91)

 ETHYLICUM

Ethylicum is a good remedy for children who are restless, nervous and tend to lie.

 EUPATORIUM PERFOLIATUM

Not only in bone pains ‘as if broken’, but serviceable in the pains of actual Fractures, verified successfully in the clinic.
  (JAIH. 1-9/84)

The child sneezes often with much dripping from the nose.  Be sure to ask about bone pains, especially skin splint type pains, as these  may be present.  The fever is higher in the morning or around noon, than at night.  Inspiration more difficult than expiration (Brom.).  When sick, the child vomits easily even after a small amount of water.  Complains of feeling sore all over.  Barking Cough similar to Causticum, the child crawls about on all fours to relieve the Cough.
  (Janet SAND, JAIH. 1/89)

“The queen of backaches, when (Grippe) cases do not complain of muscular aches, do not complain primarily of headaches, but of Backaches and Eye aches; later you find that they also have terrific thirst while chilling, and pains in the bones rather than the muscles, there is Eupatorium on a silver platter.”
  (E.W.HUBBARD, HG.1/80)

 EUPHORBIUM

  Indolent ulcers.
GRIMMER:  It should come in more frequently in Gangrene with burning pain; in old people who are weak and cold.
Indolent Ulcers that burn like coals of fire and resist the usually well-selected remedies.  Persistent pain in the right Groin.
   (Benj. GOLDBERG, JAIH. Mar-Apr. /1966)

 EUPHRASIA

During an acute Cold, profuse acrid tears; the child complains of burning eyes (Ars).  Winks frequently and wipes eyes (Puls.),  prefers to be indoors, away from sunlight or other bright lights.  Mucous, worse in the morning.  It is hard to understand how they manage to yawn so frequently amidst all the discomfort.  Eating lessens the Cough (Spong.) (Opp. Kali-bi., Nux-v.).
