FABIANA IMBRICATA

  A sovereign remedy for the treatment of Migraine and Sciatica, as a muscle relaxant and pain reliever in Cervical Root Syndrome, to resolve spasms and thus relieve pain after trauma and in Neuropathies.  Positive reults have also been noted with diseases of the Kidney, Bladder, Prostate and Gall Bladder.
  (Horst MEHNERT, AHZ. 1989)

 FERRUM METALLICUM

  Strong-willed, obstinate;  ‘Will’ get done what they want.  Hence ailments after being forced to do things against one’s liking.  Food allergies:  Pale faced, cracked mouth corners, hair loss.

  Futile despondency, without real substance behind the depression (Puls.).  Tired, depressed, upset by any opposition, even advice.  Weepy, tired, must sit down.  Bad at standing.  As a rule, the Ferrum at rest and especially when they are depressed they are very pale (Puls. at rest always has a color -  This is one of the great distinguishing features between them).  With Excitement and Irritability, bright Flush.  Irritated from any opposition.  Small sounds like chewing Apples or turning the pages of a Newspaper irritate them, but they do not mind humps going on outside and terrible noise from the street.  Even when they are very ill with Pneumonia, you come in and try and read your paper in the room where the Ferrum is and you will be very soon turned out because they cannot bear it.  They are extremely sensitive to cold. (That is another distinguishing feature from Puls.)
  (M.G.BLACKIE, BHJ. 4/78)

  They refuse to eat big bites or chunks of food.  They must be mashed or purreed.  Prolapse of Rectum, anal itching, bed-wetting, involuntary loss of Urine even during the day.      (DG)

 FERRUM PHOSPHORICUM

    The general picture of Ferrum phosphoricum is quite different form the one given by SCHUSSLER.  The mental picture is characteristic.  Talkative, hilarious and excited.  Has been useful in Delirium Tremens.  Drowsiness, especially in the first stages of either Inflammation or a Cold.  Colds begin with chilliness.

  Laryngitis with hoarseness, especially after overuse of the voice.  Much greenish expectoration in large lumps.  Painful short coughs, with some pleuritic pains.

  Colds at the begining; no Fever yet, but Coryza, some Cough and sore throat.

  Diarrhoea: chronic with Pneumonia; of children, greenish in summer.

  Red, puffy joints: these are affected one after the other.

  Haemoptysis and stools of pure blood are mentioned, but in these cases an X-ray to rule out growths is essential.
   (Franklin H.COOKINHAM, HG. 5/77)

  Viral Bronchitis which children get so easily in Winter, when a cold, dry wind is blowing.  Sometimes vomit undigested food. Very painful congestive Otitis accompanied by slight fever.       (DG)

 FLUORIC ACID

  Cassanova.  A charming, fickle butterfly, the man-about-town who ogles women in  the street, the “one-night-stand” young man with a yen for variety and a great love of strangers.  It is a male remedy, or one for mannish women.  Debauchee, always trying to prove his manhood through lecherousness and variety.  Sudden aversion to his wife and children which he fights against.  Elated, buoyant, gay, as only Phosphorous or Tuberculinum can be, yet more vital than they.  Compelled to move about energetically, to walk fast, fearless of misfortune, flickering like a flourescent light.  Hasty, craving cold and actually ill from warmth and warm drinks.  Hungry to gluttony, relieved by discharge which are thin, foul and acrid.  Compulsion for long walks to let off steam.  His hair is bristly, tousled, dry, his mails have longitudinal furrows anad both grow abnormally fast.

  Telangiectases, Naevi, Exostoses.  Nails too thick, or thin and irregular;  brilliant redness of the palms of hands.
  (E.W.HUBBARD, JAIH. 5-6/65)

  The male  Sepia.  It is business made hungry for thought as well as for emotion, with a curious mildness like Pulsatilla, and a reticence commendable in one emotional.
  (E.W.HUBBARD, HG. 6/78)

  Finger nails grow fast.  Warts appear all around them.  Premature sexual desire.  Early balding and a tendency to develop Varicose Veins.    (DG)

 FOLLICULINUM

    Folliculinum is made form Oestrone, a synthetic form of Oestrogen.  The source we are using today comes from Dr. Donald FOUBISTER.  Although there have been no organized provings, millions of women have been proving it since the discovery of synthetic hormones, in the 1940s.  Dr. Léa De MATTOS has done exhaustive clinical studies on the remedy, and has published her work in French.  A good picture can be found in JULIAN’s Materia Medica.  Much of what is prescribed here, however, comes from my own experience; especially the mental picture.  I have been using it for four years successfully.

  Many women had symptoms between ovulation and menses, and most of them had been on the Pill at one time or another.  Many young women were having these problems, who had not been on the pill but their mothers had been on the Pill before they were conceived.  At first I confused the picture with Medorrhinum symptoms such as early sexuality, Urinary infection, Spaciness etc., but as I got know the Folliculinum picture better, it began to dawn on me what the causation might be.

  I have used it with both girls and boys in their teenage years, drained, slow, unable to identify with their self-hood. Studies have shown an increase in a rare type of chromosomal disorder in the aborted embryos of women who conceived within 3 months of stopping the Pill.  I am afraid the signs are increasing to show the inherited damage due to the Pill.

  The other indicator towards inherited disease, through hormones-abuse involves a drug called Diethylstilbestrol (DES).  This is a man-made Oestrogen.  Beginning in 1940, it was given to pregnant women who had histories of miscarriages, premature births, Diabetes or Hypertension or showed signs of bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy.

  A previously rare form of Cancer, vaginal Clear-cell Adenocarcinoma, has been found in increasing numbers of daughters of women who were given DES.  Over 500 cases have been diagnosed with a direct link to the Hormone.  There is growing evidence to show a sharp increase in Breast Cancer, and as much as a five-fold increase of Cervical Dysplasia, in DES daughters.  They can have a whole range of abnormalities including incompetent Cervix which dilates prematurely, causing miscarriage, a higher chance of difficult menstruation, and a lower level of fertility.  Abnormalities of genitals have now been found in male children also with small testes,  Infertility, Sub-fertility; and as high as 40% of DES sons have low Sperm counts or abnormally shaped Sperm.

  DES is also used to dry up women’s milk after childbirth.

  Hormone Replacement Therapy is also being used widely to prevent post-menopausal Osteoporosis.  The issue of manipulation and control appears central to the theme of Folliculinum.  Since the Pill has sought to manipulate and control the basic feminine functions.

The picture of Folliculinum:

She feels controlled by another.
She is out of sorts with her rhythm.
She is living out someone else’s expectations.
She feels she is fed off emotionally or psychologically.
She loses her will.
She over-estimates her energy reserves.
She is full of self-denial
She becomes a rescuer, addicted to rescuing people.
She becomes drained.
She has become a door mat.
She has forgotten who she is.
She has no individuality.
She loses sense of herself.
She may totally lose herself in her relationships.

  Folliculinum comes up over and over again in cases where women have been abused sexually, psychically or physically, either now or in the past.  She may be tied so strongly to the abuser, as in early childhood when the abuser was a parent or a loved carer.  She may never have been allowed to say ‘No’.  She may have evaded the process of her own growing up.  Folliculinum can help her break the control.  Folliculinum is a link-breaker, and can give extra strength to face heavy memories.  It can be useful for those with emerging psychic abilities who can find no boundaries.  The Ovary is an organ of creativity.  It simply seethes with life and activity; when it is not functioning well, creativity can be blocked.

  May be it is blocked by the way our society views women’s creativity.  If the energy is blocked, and impressed it goes into disease, depression, anxiety, hypersensitivity and instability.

  She gets easily upset, easily hurt and unsure of herself.  She does not want to be alone, gets restless goes, hyper, gets Allergies.  It appears like an Oestrogen allergy.  The body gets confused and rejects the things that nourish it.  The mind gets confused and can’t make decisions.  Folliculinum helps to restore clarity.  There may be panic attacks, dizziness, faintness.  She can become aggressive, then depressed, put on wieght without over eating, can gain weight before periods, but it can be anytime.  There can be both fat and water retention.

Specific symptoms:

  All symptoms worse ovulation to menses.
  All symptoms better menses, except specific menstrual symptoms.
  Worse heat, noise, touch, rest.
  Better fresh air.
  Ovulation problems such as:  drawing, burning, griping pains; spotting ; ovarian Cysts;   Polycystic ovaries.

Premenstrual syndrome which covers:

  Breasts swollen and painful, worse touch (Lac-c);
  Migraines ( Nat-m);
  Nausea and vomiting (Puls);
  Diarrhoea alternating with Constipation(Puls.);
  Diarrhoea ten days before Menses;
  Very low or high Libido; weepy and depressed;
  Hyperactive; indicisive, panicky, with huge mood swings from Aggression to Apathy;   Intolerance of noise, touch or heat.
  We see a group of symptoms which might be categorized as Candida albicans infestation:
  Cravings especially for sugar and wheat;
  Rumblings, bloating, weight gain and itching;
  Recurrent cystitis which returns at this time.

Menstrual problems:

  Painful periods centered in Ovaries; prolonged and heavy bleeding with bright red blood and dark clots; all sorts of cycle problems either too short, too long or none at all.

Menopause:

  Covers a whole range of physical and mental symptoms at this time;
cycle irregularities; flooding; hot flushes; hyperactive, worse rest (hot and bothered);
night sweats; air hunger; dizziness and faintness; abdominal heaviness; Fibroids; Folliculaemia; vaginal dryness; slow movement and spacey thinking; hypersensitive to heat, noise and  touch.
Any of these symptoms arising from a Hysterectomy are also covered, since hysterectomy is like premature menopause.

Clinical situations:

  History of abuse whether sexual, physical or psychological.
  Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) - this is an obvious one when we consider the overall picture of feeling drained and exhausted.

Fibroids: Folliculinum will help to regulate the cycle while the Tumor is shrinking.  This is important as there are often frequent periods with very heavy bleeding accompanying fibroids.

Raynaud’s disease:  a vascular disorder where the fingers go cold and numb and lose their ability to circulate properly.  Horrifying enough it has been treated allopathically with the birth control pill.  When there are vascular problems, the Pill is known to be responsible for causing thrombosis;

Cardio-vascular problems: This shows in the Folliculinum picture in angina, palpitations, tachycardia and other cardiac irregularities;

Eating disorders:  Self-abuse with substances that should nourish and self-denial.
Post-natal problems:  Depression, difficulty bonding with the baby and children unable to separate from their mother.

  (Folliculaemia - Hyperfolliculinaemia or Hyperestrogenaemia is simply the over secretion of Oestrogen.  The Oestrogen half of the cycle works, but ovulation does not occur, so there is not enough Progesterone produced.  So periods occur every two weeks, or are delayed or may not occur for several cycles.  Bleeding may  be heavier than normal - a characteristic of menstruation without ovulation.  This happens in Menopause, and in ovarian disorders like Polycystic Ovaries.  It can occur in Endometriosis.  The orthodox treatment is with Danazol, which actually prohibits all the pituitary hormones, Danazol is also used to treat benign breast disorders and precocious puberty.)
